Niels Bohr (1885–1962) was born in Copenhagen on 7 October 1885. He was appointed Professor of Physics at Copenhagen University in 1916. He received the Nobel Prize in 1922 for his work on the structure of the atom. Among Professor Bohr’s numerous writings, three that appeared as books are:
(i) The Theory of Spectra and Atomic Constitution,
(ii) Atomic Theory and the Description of Nature.
